Today, I had a fantastic quick visit with my friends Isabelle & Marlon and their new puppy Sage in their new home in Squamish. We’re used to making the most of our time and it usually involves having good eats and treats. They just recently moved to Squamish so still making discoveries of good places to eat. As we were brainstorming about lunch (I already had Mag’s fried chicken in mind when Izzy brought it up) when Marlon suggested Wigan Pier Fish ‘n Chips -I quickly changed my mind and immediately craved deep fried battered halibut and fries. Apparently, I like Fish ‘n chips more than fried chicken! ha.

We decided to check it out.

I had the 6oz Halibut and Chips, side of coleslaw, and gravy. While Marlon had the Haddock and chips special and Izzy the 3 oz Halibut. They both had some British beer called Boddington or something.

It was easily one of the best Fish ‘n Chips meal I’ve had! Perfect crisp on the lightly battered fish that barely felt it was deep fried in any oil. I asked for extra tartar sauce like I always do but didn’t end up using it. I mean there was nothing wrong with the sauce but the fish was just that perfect. And the gravy! The last couple of times I’ve had gravy somewhere they made it way too salt. Luckily I still ended up ordering a side of it anyway 🙂

It was one of the most enjoyable meals I’ve had.

Wigans also specializes in meat pies and are available frozen to take home. We all picked some up to take home and I can’t wait to taste them!

More reason to come back to Squamish!!
